1. Terms and Conditions
  • The School Green Awards: Industry Challenge is organised by Singapore Environment Council (SEC) and is open to participants who are residents of Singapore and aged 16 years old and above as stated on their Identity Card/ Passport (as of 1 September 2020), and have (and continue to be) enrolled in Singapore as: (i) full-time students in any Polytechnic or Institute of Technical Education in Singapore; or (ii) full-time undergraduate students in University in Singapore
  • SEC reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion at any time without assigning any reason, to amend these Terms and Conditions, including without limitation changing the Challenge mechanics, Challenge period, Entry Submission Period and/or substituting the prize(s) with other item(s). No person shall be entitled to, and SEC shall not be liable for, any payment or compensation (whether in cash, credit or kind) whatsoever arising from the foregoing.
  • The submitted entries should neither have won awards in any other competition nor been submitted concurrently to other similar competitions.
  • Entries submitted must be participants’ own project work or invention; any form of plagiarism will be rejected.
2. Project Submission
  • Completed Entry Form
  • Video Submission
    • Participating teams are required to create a video of no more than 10 minutes, sharing your idea in a clear, engaging and professional manner.
    • Video should include:
    • Your understanding of the problem given by the industry partner
    • Explanation of how the proposed solution addresses the chosen problem area
    • Elaboration of the key concepts and technology used, and how the idea ultimately contributes to the industry’ partner’s sustainability goals
    • Video should be submitted using a link (such as YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer)
    • By submitting a video, you give SEC and affiliated entities the right to include your video in future media and for promotional purposes.
  • Pitch Deck
    • The Pitch Deck should include a summary of the solution, and additional materials and research to support your conclusion.
    • The Pitch Deck may include, but not limited to:
    • Well defined solution, market research/literature review, user validation, business model/campaign plan and/or a prototype (optional)
    • Deck should be no more than 10 slides for PowerPoint or 5 pages for Word document. Submitted in PDF format only.
    • Limited to maximum of 5MB
3. Participants
  • Only students from institutes of technical education and tertiary institutions (undergraduates) are allowed to participate.
  • Foreign students studying in Singapore at levels equivalent to university or below are welcome to participate.
  • Participants must form and register as a team of minimum two students, up to a maximum of five students
  • Teams made up of students from different schools are allowed, stating clearly in the registration and entry forms.
  • Students who had recently graduated in 2020/2021 can also participate so long as they have the endorsement of the school that they had graduated from.
  • Participants should only submit one project.
4. Judges

The decisions of the judges are final and binding. Should all entries for a certain school category not meet the judging and assessment criteria, SEC reserves the right not to make an award to that particular category or to make merit awards instead of the top three prizes.

5. Prizes

One team from each GreenDNA category will be selected as the winner. The winning teams will receive a cash prize of $3,000 each.
